Day of love a big success at Sezela BC

SEZELA hosted a special Paul Jones last Wednesday – St Valentine’s Day – and a wonderful turnout of 36 bowlers competed for top spot.
For every man who kissed ‘Kitty’ and every woman who kissed ‘Jack’ an ice-cream was up for grabs and we gave many ice-creams away. The prize for the most kisses went to greenkeeper Senzo Radebe who won seven ice-creams and R40 for his efforts.

The wome’s winner with 4+7 was Michele Davey; the men’s was new boy Albert Quinn with an amazing 6+30. Each winner received a bottle of wine. Each bowler had brought a plate of snacks and a very festive time was had by all. Thanks, Sezela members, for the great support.
It was noted that during one game John Aldhouse was seen with a broom trying to get his bowl to the Jack, too much Olympic curling John?
The men’s 2-4-2 second session was won by Jerry Davey and Ian Mackenzie with 2+10. Runners-up were Colin McLeod and Corrie van Aswegen on 4+21 with the winners being Mike Lancaster and Dave with 4+25. In the women’s 2-4-2, session winners were Linda Stead and Mel Arnison on 2+10. Runners-up were Jenny Donaldson and Bryony D’Olivera with 4+12 and runaway winners were Gina George and Glynnis Colbert with 4+33.

Well done to both Saturday league teams for winning their games last weekend, with just one game left, the A team has survived its first year in the B league after winning promotion last year. Thanks go to all the participating players.
