Tweni tennis club members ‘rally’

It was a busy morning for Dan after the rain stopped.

Very welcome rain fell in Umtentweni last week Saturday morning, but it had Umtentweni Tennis Club’s duty man, Dan Dimitriu in a quandary.

At the last minute, he rushed out and bought his usual Black Forest cake and some Pringles to save face.

He had his hands full with set arranging with five courts resounding with that wonderful sound of bouncing tennis balls.

Tweni is blessed to have members who do the extra tasks necessary to keep the club running smoothly.

Mervyn Tarboton has refurbished the umpire’s stands, which look like new again, and Raj Naganna provided labour to clear the bush and plant shade trees on the top bank.

The lists for the round robin followed by a bring-and-braai on March 10 are on the noticeboard so please put your names up. Visitors are also welcome.
