THE second round of the Scottfin Business Bowls took place last Friday. It was a hot, but a truly beautiful evening for the bowlers. The teams that are playing, include Scottfin, Halfway Toyota, Tysons, Scottburgh High School, Scottburgh Primary School, The DA, The Golf Fossils, Scottburgh Country Club, Shellgar and Rotary.
The games begin at 6pm when it is still light; they play 12 ends, therefore ending under floodlights.
There is a wonderful atmosphere on the green and some rather interesting bowls.
After the games are finished, the players and their families relax with a drink and a snack. The discussions afterwards always include a dissection of the games and some tactics for the next session.

The women’s KBA ‘B’ squad came to Scottburgh last Saturday morning to practise against our members. There were two really good games with some very good bowls being played – an enjoyable and interesting morning.
The last Sunday of the month is the time when the Sunday morning bowlers enjoy a bring-your-own braai after the games.
The temperature had dropped considerably and despite a few drops of rain, the 15 players that turned up, played for 16 ends until the weather conditions became a bit too unpleasant.
New bowlers are welcome to come and learn and enjoy the game of bowls on Wednesday mornings. Just come to Scottburgh Bowling Club at 8.30am. We will lend you bowls and teach you the basics before you have a game.
Wear flat shoes and bring a hat. If you work, please phone Lyn at 082-8787170 and an alternative time will be arranged. On a Sunday morning you are also welcome to come and give bowls a try at 8.30am.
