Round robin at Tweni tennis club this Saturday

It promises to be a fun day.

MOST important item this week at Umtentweni Tennis Club is the round robin which will be followed by a bring-and-braai this Saturday (10th), starting at 2.15pm for the draw.

Short games will be played and the format will be four with and four against your partner each round.

Visitors who would like to join in are requested to let Jean Marx know at 082 3471738 or be at the club by 2.15pm. Entrance fee will be R20.

It was great to have two visitors, Theo Henning from Curry’s Post and Glen Smith who is back from England with her strong forearm drives, joining us last Saturday.

Dave Whateley was on duty and provided Swiss roll, milk tart and home-made egg sarmies.

Cloud cover made the heat a little more bearable and the wind also cooled everyone down.

The club welcomes new members Morgan Reddy and Deena Naidoo and wishes them many enjoyable hours on the courts.

It is very pleasing to hear that Lynne Rorich is now out of the woods healthwise and members look forward to having her back on the courts as soon as she has regained her strength.

Duty: March 10 – Trish Wood; March 17 – Chris Polinski.
