Golfers take to San Lameer to raise R70 000 for Pro-Deo group
The well supported golf day raised a whopping R70 000.
Pro Deo’s annual golf day at San Lameer last Saturday was well supported and raised a whopping R70 000.
Pro Deo is an inter-church non-profit organisation with NPO registration consisting of a group of volunteers delivering a service of love to the community.
The organisation’s deputy chairman Henda Olivier told the Herald that, due to the commitment and support of San Lameer and all the wonderful sponsors, this grand amount will go a long way towards the Pro Deo Care Group, which cares for the sick, elderly people of the lower South Coast who cannot afford medical care.

“There was much excitement at the prize-giving, as family and friends waited in anticipation for the winners to be announced. They were Mot Moleele and Robert Mavundla,” explained Ms Olivier.
She added that with the deterioration in medical care and pension funds, home care as an organised activity has become a necessity.
“Unfortunately funds are limited and it is only dedicated people, such as our caring golfers, who make it possible for the volunteers to supply the necessary care that the elderly and sick require.”
She added that the Pro Deo Care Group cannot thank everyone enough for contributing to the success of this annual golf day.
