Sheppie raiders bag gold at Southbroom Golf Club

The course was in superb condition after some rain.

THERE was a pretty good turnout for the South Coast Hospice fund-raiser at Southbroom Golf Club last Saturday.

The winning score was decent, too, provided by Port Shepstone CC golfers Sanjay Singh and Santhos Baskali.

They had 48 points to deny Vic Pretorius and Olliver Ransome, on 47 points.

Filling up positions three to six on 45 points, after the countout had been done, were Roger Hissey and Chris Miller, Dave Page and George Wright, John and Dave Fox, and then Jaco Das and Brian Jolliffe.

The women’s winners were decided by a countout, with honours going to Sandy FitzGerald and Janet Humphrey on 46 points over Solange Fox and Lesley Godley.

Third place went to Della Kempthorne and Sharon Turnbull-Jackson on 43 points, with Rene Matthew and Jeanette Peyios next on 42 points.

The women’s alliance last Wednesday was won on 87 points by Shelley Myers, Jenny Westray, Janet Humphrey and Michelle Davies.

In second spot were Mari Fielden, Lesley Godley, Heleen Hissey and Carol Lamb on 84 points.

The men’s alliance was won on 96 points by Roger Hissey, Roy Deakins, Bob Carmichael and Gary Godley, followed by Malcolm Greenland, Rory O’Donnell and Colin Mckay on 94 points.

Chicken Run winners last Friday were Andrew Baranyay and Errol Amm on 22 points.

They were followed, on 21 points, by Malcolm Greenland, Pieter Els and Gerald FitzGerald.
