‘Beloved Long Run’ well worth it for South Coast Striders
It was a first for the South Coast.
SOME 40 runners from South Coast Striders and clubs from Durban came together at Oribi to do a Beloved Long Run last week Saturday.

These Beloved Long Runs are training runs organised by Dean Wight and take place every Saturday in the Durban area.
Club captain Mark Smith decided that it was high time that it took place on the scenic and hilly South Coast.

The route was specifically chosen to test the endurance of the runners as most of them will be taking on the Comrades this year.
The brave runners started in icy cold weather at the Rust Bucket in Oribi and ran through the valley and mountains, 14km back towards Murchison.

They then turned and went all the way back to complete a very tough 28km run.
Thanks were extended to volunteers and sponsors for helping make this all come together.
