Despite the fact that rain seemed imminent at Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday, there was a good turnout and visitor, Neil Perry, joined members for a great afternoon of tennis.

A grand array of eats was provided by Reel Fincham – sarmies, cream scones, crackers, chips and dips – so members all had a feast.

Martie Cronje has joined the club and members wish her a long and happy stay with many hours of good tennis.

Her refreshingly different action and shots bring a breath of fresh air to local tennis. Great concentration is the order of the day when playing against you, Martie.

Visitors are welcome to join club members for social tennis on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons from about 2pm onwards.

If you are a beginner, coaching is available. Contact Julia Christiansen for details.

Saturday duty: June 3 – Anne Payn; June 10 Mervyn Tarboton.
