From the bowling greens: Mixed fours flair from Jessica and team

KINGFISHER BA

The recent Kingfisher Bowling Association mixed fours winners were the Margate Bowling Club team comprising Jessica Henderson, Deon van Schalkwyk, Hans and Dina van der Walt.

They beat the Port Shepstone CC team of Eddie Fann, Roy Anderson, Caroline Harris and Eleanor Frizelle.

In joint third were Terrance and Pat McGlynn, Pam Cole-Cook and Vi Pells of Margate, and Ollie Coetzer, Norman Aiston, Marie Coetzer, and Judy Aiston of Hibberdene.

BANNERS REST

The KBA men’s pairs will be played at the club this Saturday (16th).

Next sponsored competition is the Golden Moon Spur mixed trips next week Wednesday (20th).

Closing date for entries to the KBA men and women’s fours is June 23.

MARGATE BC

Spur winners were Lenie Geyer, Heidi Bracegirdle and Phil (surname not known).

Food Lover’s Market winners were Des, Mally and Janine. (Surnames not known).

Quiz night on June 20. Social bowls every Sunday at 9am.

MUNSTER

High Rock mixed pairs winners were Tommie and Louise Dry, from Anthony Card and Denise de Witt.

Cow Shed/Tops pairs winners were Leigh and Dave Hume, from Cliff Moakes and Phil Longden.

Second session to Tommie Dry and Rory Lawson.

MARGATE CC

La Capannina restaurant vouchers were won by Peter Griffiths, Peter McCarthy and Peta Egerton.

Runners-up were Kobie Stander, Eileen Lloyd and Mike Green.

JL Panelbeaters men’s fours league this Friday (15th).

NOMADS

The latest outing was at Munster, sponsored by Cynthia’s Butchery.

First prize went to George Pick, Sergio Ruperto and Denise Davison.

Second prize to Kobus Faber, Danny Terreblanche and Myra Doubell.

Sportsman prize won by Marie Pretoruis, Mike Ryan and Denise Brass.

Next outing is at the Village on July 8.

PSCC

Twelve teams took part in a fun bowls competition as part of the club’s Restoration Trophy celebrations.

Winners on the day were Rick Thomson, Anne Payn and Julia Peacock, from Mark Nicholas, Nikita Coetzer and Barbara Henderson.

Session prize to Keith Thiele, Gill Thiele and Caroline Harris.

Business Day will be held this Friday (15th).

THE BELL

Fruit and Veg sponsored 2-4-2 will be played on June 20, the same day as the monthly birthday tea.

Many thanks to the volunteers for all their work during Hibiscus Week.

VILLAGE

Hibiscus Retirement Village men’s trips winners were Denzil Masssyn, Gary Hess and Manny Rodriques.

Runners-up were Alan Tyers, Clive Bignall and Bill Parfitt.

Sessions to Ron Canning, Reg Saunders and Rennie Geyer, as well as Oscar Pienaar and Herman Scheinberger.
