Rugby Warriors win away, now braced for Hillcrest Villagers
The biggest match of the Warriors' season to date will be played at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground this Saturday (23rd).
RIVERSMEAD Warriors scrapped hard to beat Westville Old Boys away last Saturday in their Fidelity Security First Division South rugby league game.
The final score was 31-26 and, although the Warriors maintained control for most of the game, Westville did come back strongly in the second half after the score had been 24-12 in favour of the Warriors at half-time.

“It was a very physical game,” said captain Chris Mitchell.
Tries were scored by fullback Tienie Viljoen (2), fly-half Brandt Fields, wing Mangwe Marubelela and outside centre Rameez Allie.
Viljoen kicked three conversions. It’s worth noting he did in fact convert his own tries!
Men of the match were Jade Nyman (forwards) and Donovan Horne (backs), who had both returned after missing the previous game.

The team on the day was: 1 Tian Malherbe, 2 Msizi Mzindle, 3 Lourens Stapelberg, 4 Chris Sharpe, 5 Jade Newman, 6 Lunga Madlala, 7 David Durrheim, 8 Juan van der Berg, 9 Chris Mitchell, 10 Brandt Fields, 11 Mangwe Marubelela, 12 Donovon Horne, 13 Rameez Allie, 14 Xander Lourens, 15 Tienie Viljoen. Bench: Xolani Batyi, Marchell Sass, Senanelo Ndlazi, Kamevihle Ndlazi, Cameron Camp, Nhlanhla Lushaba.
The Warriors host Hillcrest Villagers in the clash of the season at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground this Saturday with kick-off at 3pm.
This match will most likely decide who wins the league this season.
The second team lost 45-7, with the lone try coming from Sam Nkwentsha and converted by Spider Ndlazi.
