Fun, festivities and funds at Harcourts hospice golf day
There was perfect weather for the golf day.
The Harcourts/South Coast Hospice golf day went off well at Port Shepstone Country Club last Saturday, for the most part, anyway.
Unfortunately, the original winners were disqualfied for forgetting to sign their scorecard.

As such, the runners-up were bumped up into first place, namely Bevis Fairbrother (who ironically was emcee and handling the prize-giving) and Annie Stoppel on 47 points.
They counted out Jeandré Richards and Ivan ‘Popeye’ Fabricius. One shot further back were Jimmy Parsons and Anba Pillay.
There was a very long prize list, with almost no one going home empty-handed.
Harcourts donated R30 000 to South Coast Hospice, which will be used for the Kingfisher House in-patient unit.
Mike and Joey Willemse have been the driving force behind the golf day and fund-raising efforts.
Pro-Vision donated R5 000 with Asho Singh handing over the cheque on behalf of the club.
In regular golf news, the previous Wednesday’s competition was won on 51 points by Eddie Fann and Paul Bunge.
Runners-up were Smittie Stieger and Graham Dickson on 50 points, with visitors J Lucas and F Brumloop next on 47 points.
