Constable Horne stars, but not for Warriors
It's been a good week for the local rugby players.
The Riversmead South Coast Warriors beat UKZN 54-21 away last weekend. The half-time score was 27-12.

This was their third last game in the Fidelity Security First Division South league for the season. There may be promotion play-offs later depending on what happens in the final two games.
They have a rest this Saturday (14th) followed by a home game against the Zululand Rhinos on July 21 and then Westville Old Boys, also at home.
In Durban last weekend a lot of improvisation had to take place, mostly through necessity.
Lock Chris Sharpe moved to loose head prop in the absence of Tian Malherbe, whose kicking skills were fortunately not really missed on the day.
Juan van den Berg moved off the bench (and out of any chance to light up the backline late in the match) to fill his spot in the second row. Not too tough a switch for the big number eight.
Lunga Madlala moved from flank to lock to join him. Together they made arguably the Warriors fastest lock combination ever.
Cameron Camp came off the bench to start at flank.
Dawie Durrheim and Brendan Rademeyer stayed at flank and eighth-man as per usual.
In the backline Dylan Kroon – choosing a holiday here at the best time possible for the Warriors – filled in for Mitchell at scrumhalf, with the other scrumhalf option, Nico Smuts, moving to wing.
Brandt Fields was again at fly-half but with Tristan Rothman at inside centre, who filled in for Donovan Horne, away playing for the KZN police in the annual South African Police tournament, which KZN won.
‘Constable’ Horne was one of the stars of the tournament and was duly selected for national police squad.
Rameez Allie was in at second centre, but off again for 10 minutes in the match for a high tackle and subsequent yellow card.
The other wing was regular speedster Xander Lourens, while Senanelo Ndlazi handled fullback in the absence of Tienie Viljoen.
Any fears the coaching staff may have had were soon allayed as the Warriors dominated pretty much from start to finish.
The eight tries were scored by Mitchell and Allie (two each) as well as Madlala, Fields, Smuts and Ndlazi.
Kroon knocked over seven conversions, missing only one.
Bench players were: Msizi Mzindle, Nicholas Potonas, Nhlanhla Lushaba, Ross Morris, Marchell Sass, Mangwe Marubelela, Yonela Baleni.
