‘Tannie tennis’ at Tweni

Chloe Dutton and Liesl Smith are also wished recovery from their injuries and members look forward to having them both back on the courts soon.

PLAYERS came a bit later to Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday afternoon due to the extreme heat.

It was good to have four courts going and Rod Hackland and Gerald Bunge were welcome visitors.

Dan Dimitriu kindly did the duty for Raj Naganna who was away playing in a tournament in Cape Town so members were treated to a tasty apple tart and black forest cake.

The men dominated the afternoon, outnumbering the women by far.

There was plenty of friendly rivalry going on amongst the men and the women enjoyed their ‘tannie tennis’.

Members wish Reel Fincham a speedy recovery from her nasty fall so that she can get back to tennis soon.

It was wonderful to see Mary Wood last Wednesday and to hear that her granddaughter, Kiara Mun-Gavin, is making good progress after her horrific accident.

Mervyn Tarboton and his family are wished a safe trip to Australia where they will attend a family wedding.

Lynne Rorich is off to Cape Town to celebrate her granddaughter’s engagement.
