Andhras elected for another term
Families are urged to build on the legacy of their forefathers.
The Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha (formally established in 1955) held its 64th annual general meeting at the Andhra Hall last Wednesday evening.
The meeting was well attended by the local Andhra community together with various religious organisations and community bodies who lent their support.

Thiruschini Naidoo, who became the Port Shepstone Andhra Sabha’s first ever woman chairman in 2015, was again re-elected for the fifth consecutive year and the exco committee members were re-elected to their positions.
Guest speaker and acting principal of Marburg Secondary, Madhan Seevnarain gave an inspirational talk and traced the powerful legacy of the Port Shepstone Andhra community. He paid special tribute to the many humble Andhra families, community elders and forefathers who built the hall and temple in Lions Grove.
He urged the second and third generation of Andhra families to continue building on the legacy of their forefathers.
Other persons re-elected onto the executive committee of the Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha were: Reggie Kistamurthy (first vice-chairman), Jimmy Naicker (second vice-chairman), Logan Naidu (treasurer), Johnny Rajoo (PRO-secretary) and Krish Naidoo (secretary).
A working committee was elected and top of its agenda will be the co-opting of members to various subcommittees based on their expertise at its next council meeting to be held at the Andhra Hall on Tuesday, July 2 at 7pm.
