Page gets it Wright at Southbroom

THERE’S always a little bit of extra interest when a board trophy is being played for, and this was again the case at Southbroom Golf Club last Saturday.
The Bilton Trophy, played as a betterball bonus bogey, saw Dave Page and George Wright win on +12.

Runners-up were Derek James and John Neaves on +11, with Bob Thomas and John Fox on +10 and Gavin Sole and Dave Rush on +9.
The women’s competition was won by Allyson Thomas and Shirley Jeffery on 42 points, with Jean Corfe and Di Dimambro next on 40 points.
In third place were Sandy FitzGerald and Jean Cole on 39 points.

Winners were Dave Fox, Craig Treherne, Mike Lig and Paul Lawson on 101 points.
In second place were Robert Mavundla, Ronald Mtshaka, Wonderboy Nxumalo and Sbu Ntozakhe on 100 points, with Martin Hutton, Peter Volck, Bob Clark and Maurisio Da Costa in third place on 98 points.
The Wednesday competition was won on 44 points by Janet Humphrey and Candida Amm, who counted out Allyson Thomas and Jo Ledden.
Third place went to Rita Kinghorn and Lesley Godley on 42 points.
The men’s competition saw Norman Farrell and John Fox win on 42 points, counting out Alex and Ken Crawford, as well as Werner Duggan and Rob Meydell.
Fourth spot went to Colin McKay and Malcolm Greenland on 41 points.
