The teams that compete against each other feel more like a family.

Various dart clubs from across the country are converging on the South Coast for the 2019 Saps National Darts Championships at Santana Holiday Resort in Margate this week

The event, in conjunction with KZN Darts, is being hosted for the second time on the South Coast.

Vasu Govender, the Saps KZN Darts chairman, said the tournament presents a fantastic opportunity for players to participate at a higher level.

“Their dedication, hard work and preparation to be competitive against the best players from all nine provinces, as well as head office, will be rewarded.”

John Dreyer, the chairman of the Western Cape team, said darts is sadly a sport with very few young people.

“However, those that do take a chance to try it out, find it to be a fun sport, with a team that feels like a family.”

Teams participating this year include;

Male: KZN one and two, Freestate, Eastern, Western and Northern Cape.

Female: Freestate, Eastern and Western Cape
