Women avoid wet weather
The weather wasn't great last Saturday, with the result that the women didn't finish their round.
THE women’s competition at Southbroom Golf Club last Wednesday was won by Rene Matthew and Lorraine Cook on 39 points, counting out Shelley Myers and Irene Schanda.
Roger Hissey and Roy Deakins won the men’s competition on 48 points, by four from Bruce and Derrik Matthew, as well as Jim Cook and Chris Miller.

The weather wasn’t great last Saturday, with the result that the women didn’t finish their round.
The men’s alliance saw all scores to count on the 9th and 18th.
Winners on 92 points were George Wright, Dave Page, Vic Pretorius and Gordon Moody, by two from Bob Thomas, Roger Hissey, Ant Hughes and Chris Miller.
Third place went to Martin Hutton, Gavin Sole, Howard Kelly and Geoff Skelton on 89 points.
