SCOTTBURGH GOLF CLUB
THIS week I’m saying ‘blow-all’ about the weather-so there!
Some of the Umko members were welcomed on Wednesday for the betterball bonus bogey competition played in favourable conditions.

As the Umko members usually play Individual on Wednesday, the comp must have come as a nice change. Unfortunately they didn’t get on the podium as Nick Wattrus and Hilton McAuliffe had +9 to win the day.
Second on a count-out was Thys Swart who is back after an illness and visitor Jaco Vorster on +8 winning over Brian Richards and Denis Brown on the same score, however the visitors found the two clubs, being Francios Roussouw and Jaco Vorster who had two.
Both the ladies and men played individual Stableford on Saturday in somewhat blustery conditions.
For the ladies Mandy Jones scored 32 to win by one over Lauren Davey with Hayley Gilliver in third. Nick Wattrus again showed how it’s done with a 37 point total to win easily for the men.
Second place went to Brett Rowe on 32 winning the count out over Tony Kennedy and these scores usually are reserved for the Stone.
‘Many are called but only one is chosen’ as Andrew Botha beat off all opposition to carry off the Stone this week, but he got the last laugh as he then won the R120 meat voucher.
Tony Kennedy had the only 2-club played into the wind on the 5th, the ball coming to rest almost in the hole narrowly missing an ‘ace’.
As the monthly medal was postponed this weekend, we will be playing the Halfway Toyota monthly medal next weekend and on Wednesday it’s a relaxing three ball Alliance.
