Cheetahs come out tops

The inaugural Widenham Retirement Village sponsored day will be played this Saturday, with more than 80 players already signed up.

THE eighth annual Alliance League took place last Saturday. The good scores were a testament to the highly playable conditions and the Cheetahs, made up of Bruce Sutcliffe, Francois Rossouw, Kuben Naidoo and Bing Opie, emerged victorious on 89 points.

Second place went to Barrie Taylor, Nelson Moonsamy, Jacques Kirstein and Saga Reddy on 85 points. Thanks to Viv Naicker for the sponsorship of wines for nearest the pins. Saga Reddy scooped two – 13th and 17th, with Sabiha Bacaus the 9th and Christopher Pillay the 4th.

Mid-week results: Wednesday Individual Stableford – first Chris Viljoen – 39 points, second Wally Kent – 36 points and third Peter Vermaak – 35 points. The inaugural Widenham Retirement Village sponsored day will be played this Saturday, with more than 80 players already signed up.

There are great prizes and a delicious spit braai on offer after the golf.

Good luck to our ladies competing in the Lewis Reynolds trophy at Toti this Sunday. They’re hoping to improve on last year’s third place.
