Runners-up were the AMBC team of Bob Elliot, Carol Cameron and Louise Shone with 4+10 (vouchers from Blue Marlin and the Coffee Lounge).

There was a good showing for the annual Hypersure Sevens over the weekend of October 5-6.

Teams of seven players’ grouped trips and fours played opponents in adjacent rinks and the winners were based on the combined results of the two games.

Rotating between the different greens and playing two games a day was heavy going for some but the weather held and a great time was had by all.
The winner was the local side of Pine Pienaar, narrowly winning from the AMBC sides of Annetjie Kidd and John Chamier.
In addition to some great prizes for the bowling, Hypersure also ran a lucky draw for whisky and wine prizes and note blocks.
There were some great moments on the greens and an “8” was also recorded in the competition.
Hypersure is thanked for the ongoing support.
Looking ahead, the men’s 2-4-2 will be played on October 10, the mixed 2-4-2 on October 18 and the ladies 2-4-2 on October 23.
On October 30 we again have the “famous” Scottburgh Fifth, the mixed trips numbers format games which are tremendous fun.
It is most important to register your interest in this competition and to remember please only one skip per team.
The next men’s drawn pairs championships will also start in October.
The club invites any visiting bowlers to come and join in our normal ‘tabs-in’ games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons or on Sunday mornings.
All afternoon games start at 2pm (register by 1.30 pm) and morning games start at 9am.
Anyone interested in bowls can contact Lyn Seymour at 082-8787170 to arrange a coaching session.
