Solid scores from South Coast golfers

The medal and putt last Saturday saw Hannelie Pretorius victorious on nett 68, with 29 putts.

There have been some great scores at the local courses over the past week or so.

* At Southbroom GC, the Spring Alliance last Wednesday, with all to count on the 9th and 18th, was won by Rob Meydell, Mike Lig, George Haswell and Werner Duggan on 83 points.
The Bilton Trophy, played for last Saturday, saw Fox brothers John and Dave win on +10, counting out Derek James and Peter Kupisiewicz.
In the women’s section, winners were Sue Kupisiewicz and Jill Webster on 46 points, counting out Sandy FitzGerald and Jeanne Powell.
AB Cronjé won the Chicken Run last Friday on 21 points.

* At Margate CC, Chris Redelinghuys won last Thursday’s competition on 36 points, counting out Carlos Pereira and Kim Howden.
The bonus bogey was won on +10 by Wayne Minnaar and Graeme Massam, counting out Peter Mc Carthy and Peter Hunter.
The Friday business day saw André Henn, Rod O’Farrell, Piet Pretorius and Frank Merrill clean up on 96 points.
The monthly medal played the next day saw some impressive scores returned despite the wind.
Ivan Curlewis won the A division on nett 70, Rob Weyer the B division on nett 66 and Kim Howden the C division on 39 points.
Una McLachlan and Dawn Howden won the Connie’s Day betterball last Tuesday on 46 points.

* At Port Shepstone CC, Jimmy Parsons won the Stableford last Wednesday on 34 points.
It was monthly medal on the Saturday, with the mug going to Jimmy Parsons, enjoying a good week, on nett 73.
A division winner was Paul Geoffery on nett 80.
Ernst Meier won the B division on nett 72, while Rob Calder won the C division on nett 74.
Best gross went to Ernst Meier on 86, counting out Paul Geoffery.
Business day this Friday (11th). The club will host the McKenzie Cup this weekend.
