Busy times for South Coast golfers

It wasn’t all about the KZN Interclub tournament this past weekend, as those not involved also took to the fairways for their regular game.

At Southbroom Golf Club the Captain vs Vice-Captains competition ended in a draw.

Best score of the day came from Eli Bachmann and Carol Lamb on 46 points.

Runners-up were Jo Ledden and Jeanette Peyios on 45 points, with Lorraine Cook and Gwyn Wright 42 points, as well as Rita Kinghorn and Val Volck.

Southbroom Golf Club’s Frog team won the Sunday alliance at the KwaZulu-Natal Interclub tournament. They are (from left) Cyprian Xolo, Graham Sole and Grant Richards.

In the men’s section Don Osbourn and Werner Duggan had 46 points, one ahead of John Lison and Urs Diethelm.

Third place went to Peter Volck and Romano Fanfoni on 43 points, followed by Bruce Matthew and Geoff Skelton on 42 points.

The alliance was won by Marius Santos, Neill Crossey, Andy Bossard and Eli Bachmann on 94 points.

Runners-up were Bob O’Callaghan, Graham Volck, Rory O’Donnell and Graham Royston, on a countout.

Third place went to Olliver Ransome, Chris Miller, Geoff Skelton and Peter Kupisiewicz on 93 points.

Sbu Ntozakhe chips to the 16th green for Margate CC in the B division final against Umdoni Park.

Chicken Run: Anton Kohrman 18 points, Malcolm Greenland 16 points, Van Zyl Greyling 16 points.

At Margate Country Club, Sandi Johnston came first with a score of 39 points.

In second place was Connie McArthur with 34 points followed by Hilary Hendry on 32 points on a countout.

Maureen Ogilvie, Margaret Taylor and Jean Page won the  Alliance Waltz with 74 points.

At Port Shepstone CC, the Wednesday competition, with three scores to count, was won by Johann du Plessis, Roly Shaw, Gordon Dickson and Chris Boyce on 122 points.

Runners-up were Bevis Fairbrother, Craig Lindsay, Gary Vogt and Lionel Peters on 114 points.

Saturday’s competition was won by Stewart Betts and Roly Shaw on 45 points, on a countout from Anni and Pete Stoppel, as well as Jimmy Parsons and Chris Boyce.
