Reciprocity golf for Scottburgh members
President Ian Walker and Russel Freeman took second with 41 counting out Anton Visage and Tony Kennedy on the same score.
The Sani to Sea is back with us this weekend so unfortunately Scottburgh Golf Club will be closed, however, reciprocity has been arranged at local clubs.
The restaurant and bar will be open as usual and we’re looking for volunteers to man the pop up bars.
All locals are cordially invited to come along and watch these intrepid cyclists as they ride/walk the last weary metres to the finish line.
Wayne Simpson is a relatively new member to the club but he has quickly found his way to the Captain’s table as again on Wednesday as he played to his handicap and finished with 36 points to win the Individual Stableford competition.
He won by three from Brian Richards and Tony Power who have worn away the carpet to the table, Brian getting the nod for second place.
There was a fair turn out for the Friday Chicken run won once again by Hilton McAuliffe on 18 points.
Hilton’s freezer is close to bursting with chickens but come Christmas and visitors it will soon empty I imagine.
The ladies joined us for the P&G Construction day on Saturday which is always popular for the whisky and wine prizes which are on offer.
My computer, like my cellphone, seems to have developed predictive text.
Once I press B or H Brian Richards and Hans Beuthe’s names appear and it made no mistake as their names readily appeared as they won with 46 points to add to their whisky collection.

Brian also managed to find the hidden holes along with Tony Kennedy with Mick Marriot, Barry Kisten and Herman Grotious all birdieng a par three.
The ladies were not left out of the proceedings as Esme Hadley and Pathma Moodly took centre stage as they picked up the Stone and were joined by Deane Jooste and Johan Barnard for the pleasure, there are no count out when this prize is handed out.
Flyer’s footnote: The slow play habit is like the smoking habit, it’s so hard to break that we are wisest not to start it.
