‘Cut and paste’ as familiar faces feature in prizes
There was a fourway tie for Stone Last with Thys Swart, Colin Moodie, Roland Tickle and visitor Don Gray each grabbing a corner of the trophy.
The sani2c MTB race was a huge success, not only for the organisers who did exceptionally well during these trying times, but also for Scottburgh Golf Club who pulled out all the stops to help in its success.
The Wednesday prior to the race it was a cut-and-paste job with the winners.
In an Individual Stableford game Brian Richards posted 40 points to win by two from Hans Beuthe.
In third spot Anton Visage and Mike Hogan shared the spoils with 36.
And if it isn’t Artha it’s Martha as Tony Power and Wayne Simpson smashed all comers with 46 points in last week Wednesday’s betterball.
As usual Hans Beuthe and Brian Richards got in on the act, coming second on 41 in a tie with captain Bob Hall and Mike Eley.

It was the final medal of the year for both men and ladies last Saturday, sponsored by Halfway Toyota Park Rynie.
The ladies had a decent field and Hayley Gilliver showing husband and son (Pete and Jason) how to do it won the ladies section with Mandy Jones runner-up.
Flinky Dreyer made a return on Saturday and with his 71 he took the A section best gross with Barry Kisten having the best nett.
Tony Moore captured the B section best gross with 85 and Graham Brown had the best nett with 69.
Thys Swart, still smarting after picking up the Stone last week, scored 36 points in C section to win by four over Brian Richards.
Graham won the final medal of the year adding to his two previous wins.
The Alliance was won by Graham Brown, Tony Moore, Wayne Simpson and stand in Captain Coenie du Bruyn.
It’s tough being the stand in when you also have to pick up Stone last as Coenie drew himself as Ghost to share the trophy with Hilton McAuliffe, Denis Brown and as usual Dave Meredith.
Many of our Wednesday players will remember Smiley Vahad also known to his close friends as Jockey.
Sadly, Smiley died last week and will be missed by all.
