Rain stops play at Sezela

KBA league started last Saturday and Sezela hosted the first round of both the women and men’s matches in their divisions.

Forty eight bowlers entered Sezela’s mixed trips competition and, after a couple of ends, there were 48 very wet bowlers, so the organisers called it off after the eighth end, two ends short of the first session, but still enough to ascertain an official result.

As the second session was not played a third prize was presented and it went to Steve and Sue Padgett with Lucas Lindique, scoring 2+5, after a countout against Steve and Linda Stead and Gina George.

They took home vouchers from new sponsors Live Love Laughter Coffee Shop.

Jerry Davey was assisted by the former Kempton Park jukskei champions, Chris and Engela Wehr in winning the runners-up prize, sponsored by Impithi Beach Kiosk, on 2+11.

Overall winners were the strong combination of Kevin and Sandy O’Donoghue with the evergreen Tony Hoggins, finishing on a commendable 2+14 and so winning vouchers sponsored by Enzo’s.

KBA league started last Saturday and Sezela hosted the first round of both the women and men’s matches in their divisions.

Playing in the morning Gay Symon’s team played two and won two, Sandy O’Donoghue’s team played two and lost two.

The men played against a jovial Port Shepstone team.

The A side, comprising Jerry Davey, Steve Padgett, Rod Black and Mike Carr fought back well after a slow start but lost their match.

Mally Swanby, Corrie van Zyl, Chris Geyer and John Aldhouse ensured a 3-2 victory for the Sezela team after winning their match by a margin just enough to take the combined shot difference point.
