There are a number of rules and regulations that need to be observed in the interests of safety and security.
Umdoni Park Golf Club already has a reputation as a popular, scenic must-play course.
Now it is also home to a number of wonderful train runs, walks or cycles.
And the best part is that they are free. The trails open at 6am and close at 6pm.
There are a number of rules and regulations that need to be observed in the interests of safety and security.

Trail descriptions (distances and times approximate):
1. Umdoni Loop (6.5km, 90 minutes)
Start and finish at the clubhouse, on the sea-side of the entrance gate to the club’s carpark, to the right of the Observation Deck.
This route will take you the length and breadth of Umdoni Park and showcase a bit of everything, including the otter view site, forest pond, forest and grasslands.
2. Gorge (1.8km, 90 minutes)
Very tough, not for small children or the elderly.
When in the gorge you have a long haul over some narrow and demanding sections, but it rewards the adventurous with a beautiful waterfall (rain dependent) and views.
This is also the route to view the crowned eagle’s nest.
Do not cross the river when in flood or when the water level is at ankle height.
3. Wendy’s World (2km, 30 minutes)
Some steep declines but manageable by most.
Thick forest and rocky sections with a meandering stream ending in pretty grasslands.
4. Jeff’s Wild Trail (1km, 30 minutes)
Doable by all ages. In to the heart of the forest, via the forest pond ending on the old road to Lynton Hall lined with trees.
5. Meander (800m, 15 minutes)
This route links to the gorge so make sure you can manage the gorge should you attempt this.
Shortcut to the gorge via a meandering stream and is for those that would prefer not to do the entire gorge trail.
6. JoHaDaLuCoGa (350m, 10 minutes)
This route was created in recognition of the six employees who have built some and maintain all of the trails.
The trail name is made up of the first two initials of each of their names – Joyce, Happiness, David, Lucky, Colin and Gabisile.
This route shortens the Umdoni Loop by about 750m and takes you through the heart of the forest.
7. Black Mamba (800m, 20 minutes)
Doable by all adventurers. This trail has steep declines and inclines entirely through forest.
8. Interactive Trail (3.2km, 70 minutes)
Perhaps the best for families.
Over 300 informative signs on the fauna and flora plus additional historical information.
Starts and ends at the Environmental Centre parking area.
It takes you via the otter view site and forest pond ending from where you started.
