Village Eagles play for bucks
Best Male Golfer was Clive Melville and best Lady golfer was Sue Boucher.
‘Are we playing for bucks today?’ is a question often asked on the first tee when playing in a Village Eagles golf competition. Well at Selborne Park the question was answered by the real four legged animals we call bucks that seemed to come out from everywhere to greet us Eagles.

With Covid protocols preventing supporters from joining in, it was great to have the Selborne wildlife watching us putt. The day would really have been spoiled had the after match snacks included venison. What lucky golfers we are that we can enjoy our favourite past time in such beautiful surroundings.
Of course golfers are very fussy about the condition of the playing surface and it is with gratitude that we thank the management of Selborne for giving us such a well groomed golf course to play on. The hospitality afforded the Eagles is appreciated. All of the aforesaid meant that a great day was had by all. In the words of that famous body building actor “we will be back”.

The day was especially enjoyed by John Watkins, Mike Madsen, Billy Smith and Sarel Swart. These four gentleman produced a round of winning golf and took away the prize of champion golfers for the day. Their winning score of 92 was matched by Brian Green, Neville Lloyd, Ron Clark and Allan Hogg who finished second on a count out. Best Male Golfer was Clive Melville and best Lady golfer was Sue Boucher.
On a note that will catch the attention of all of those that search for balls on golf courses, each month we give a prize to the one who estimates the number of golf balls that get lost during our competition. Well, the Village Eagles left 200 golf balls in the rough, in the water and in the bush. If they are found then please accept our donation. Talking about donations, we once again thank our many sponsors whose contributions make our games so much more rewarding.
