The club thanked Dean Wight from Beloved Long Runs who approached it to host the run, and to the SAC members who acted as marshalls and manned water tables.

Overall, the turnout was phenomenal with a lot of athletes from SAC and its neighbouring clubs such as Umkomaas and Amanzimtoti Athletic Clubs. Some athletes even came from as far as Howick.

The golf club and Clubhouse Restaurant did everything they could to accommodate and support the athletes by opening at 05:30 that morning.

They offered a special ‘Runners Brekkie’ and hosted the crowd of athletes and their families afterwards.

SAC also gave special thanks to Riyaaz Khan from MR Khan Biokineticists in Park Rynie for putting up his gazebo with all the necessary equipment and offering athletes free massages, tips on stretches, form, strength and all the other questions bombarded on him.

A number of SAC athletes have been to Riyaaz in the past for sports injuries and always had great results.
