Golf news to the tee

Umtentweni CPF is also looking for a title sponsor and prizes to maximise the success of the day.

At Port Shepstone Country Club:

Umtentweni CPF will be hosting its Golf Day fundraiser at Port Shepstone Country Club on December 16 at 07:00.

First option on fourballs and sponsorships will be offered to business owners who live in Umtentweni.

Cost of the fourball is R1000, tee boxes and greens are R500 each.

Umtentweni CPF is also looking for a title sponsor and prizes to maximise the success of the day.

Funds raised will go towards maintaining and improving the safety and security in Umtentweni, through the CCTV camera system and by initiating other projects.

The club held a combined Stableford last Wednesday and was won by Gavin van Wyk and Alan Rowley on 67 points, ahead of second placed Ewald Ziervogel and Gerald Koch who ended 65 points. Chris Boyce and Rob Calder concluded the top three on 64 points

In Halfway Ford’s Business Day held last Friday Sanjay Singh, Ganes Munsami, Yeshvan Sampathmany and Sashen Govender were winners with 90 points, followed by Eddie Ringo, Tony Fairbairn, John Beekman and Jesse Verster who placed second on a count out of 89 points, ahead Anni Stoppel, Yzelle Greyling, Cecelia Verster and Kim Strauss who finished third.

Chris Boyce’s 39 points saw him the individual Stableford which took place the following day, one point ahead of Andrew Maree (38 points). Daan Swanepoel finished third on 37 points.

The course has been closed from November 14 up until November 18.

SA Correctional Champs is set to take place this Saturday (Beekman/Umthunzi Golf Day) and Sunday (Cricket Club Golf Day).

At Southbroom Golf Club:

Alex Crawford and Gary Godley’s 43 points were enough edge out Geoff Skelton and Peter Kupisiewicz’s 40 points during last Wednesday’s betterball Stableford, with Malcolm Greenland and Clive Miller finishing third on 40 points.

The holborn betterball Stableford took place on Saturday. Malcolm Greenland and Derek Pieterse walked away with first prize on 47 points, ahead of second placed Tilly Nel and Uli Matzinger who ended on 43 points. Christer Solgevik and Neill Crossey rounded off the top three with their 43 points respectively.

At Margate Country Club:

The Nassau IPS took place on Tuesday. Lizzie Meyer won convincingly on 40 points. Cathy Meyer won the first 9 with 20 points and Lexley Lewis won the second 9 on 18 points.
