Tie for spirit trophy at Izotsha

The intermediate and senior phases held their interhouse long distance and short distance galas last Tuesday and Friday respectively.

Izotsha Primary School experienced an exciting week of sport.

The U11A cricket team played against Southcity.
Izotsha won the toss and elected to bowl first. Southcity was all out for 51 runs after 11 overs with Quade Nicholls taking six wickets and Jacob Steynberg three.

Izotsha managed to chase down the 51 runs in eight overs, losing only three wickets.
The intermediate and senior phase held their interhouse long distance and short distance galas last Tuesday and Friday respectively.
Friday’s short distance and relay gala went ahead despite the rain. The atmosphere was electric with much excitement, cheering and competitiveness.

Panther were the overall winners with Leopard in second position and Jaguar third. Amidst much deliberation, the spirit trophy was awarded as a tie position to both Leopard and Jaguar.
The following learners were age group winners: U10: Skyla Nadauld and Jan-Louis de Jager, U11: Olivia Browne and Peter Koegelenberg, U12: Ella Bunge and Callum Heydricks, U13: Kirsty Koegelenberg and Thomas Delport.

Congratulations to the nine learners who participated in the Midmar Mile recently.
A reminder that the school is hosting a High School Fair where a number of high schools, both local and those from further afield will exhibit their wares on Thursday, February 23 from 17:00 – 19:00 in the school sport centre.
Grade 6 and 7 learners and their parents from all lower South Coast schools are welcome to attend.
Learners should attend this event in their school uniform.
