Wade Young managed a fourth-place finish in the recent Red Bull Romaniacs held in Sibiu, Romania.
It is regarded as the world’s longest and toughest hard enduro rally.
The gold class ended up covering 586km during the four days, and the top guns were on their bikes upwards of 24 hours in total.
In this year’s edition, competitors from 64 nations competed.
Among them were the world’s best hard enduro riders like Wade, who hails from Paddock, plus Manuel Lettenbichler (Germany), Graham Jarvis (UK), Mario Roman (Spain), Michael Walkner (Austria) and Teodor Kabakchiev (Bulgaria).
Manuel took the victory, his fifth win in a row at Romaniacs and his third win in the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship series.
Wade wasn’t able to get the result that he needed to stay at the top of the championship ranking.
However, it remains close, and he is still very much in contention as they head to the Tennessee Knockout, which takes place from August 23 to 25.
Thereafter, two rounds remain – in Turkey and Spain.
Rankings:
1 Manuel Lettenbichler 67
2 Wade Young 62
3 Mario Roman 62
4 Teodor Kabakchiev 57
5 Mitch Brightmore 50
