Silver medal for Cecelia and Jennifer at Interclub

It was an fun-filled trip all-round.

There’s never a dull moment when the annual ladies Interclub takes place, and this was the case again at Richards Bay last weekend. The format is alternate shots, which is testing and sometimes confusing.

Port Shepstone Country Club golfers Cecelia Verster and Jennifer Duncan had a great first round of 39 points, but dropped off with 33 points in round two. Competing in the bronze division, they improved a touch with 35 points in the third round to finish in second place overall in their division.

Yzelle Greyling and Debi Stewart had a disastrous first round of 21 points, but pulled it back rather well with 33 and 38 points in the next two rounds.

Sandi Burger and Kim Strauss were disqualified in the first round.

Richards Bay loops of eight and 10 holes. Sandi accidentally teed off on both the 8th and 9th, and the two only realised it on the 11th. Unfortunately that was the end of the tournament, but they still enjoyed the social side.

Back home, Piet Snyman and Chris Hattingh won the bonus bogey last Wednesday on +10.

Tied for second on +6 were Gavin van Wyk/Gary Vogt and Charles Hulley/Allan Rowley.

The Izotsha Primary day last Saturday was won on 42 points by Niel Retief and Christo Janse van Vuuren.

One behind were Tony Higgins and Jess Verster (jnr) on 41 points.
