Interclub fishing competition a hit

Notable catches being a wahoo of 21kg caught by Kelvin Coetzer of Warner Beach and a black musselcracker of 11kg caught by Daniel Nyce of Durban Blue.

The Park Rynie Ski Boat Club interclub 2024 was held at Rocky Bay Beach last weekend.

This comes after many years out of the game of hosting interclubs – it was the first one in at least 18 years or so.

With a great briefing held on Friday night, anglers and skippers were excited to get out on the water the next morning.

Saturday turned out to be an absolute pearler of a day, and with the forecast being terrible for Sunday, the call was made to add an extra hour on Saturday.

Boats launched at first light on the partly cloudy and chilly morning.

The teams had a long day on the water, with some battling while others found some beautiful fish to bring to the scales.

Fishing on Sunday was called off because of the weather and prize giving was held earlier.

The club thanks its sponsors and all those who helped in making this interclub the resounding success it was.

All participating skippers and anglers are thanked for coming out as well because, without their support, these competitions would not be possible.
