Super turnout for splash gala
There's going to be plenty of swimming on the go as summer approaches.
Blue Ocean Aquatics Swimming Club held its annual Spring Splash fun gala at Creston College last week, with 118 youngsters taking part.
There were medals up for grabs for the three fastest swimmers in each event, plus spot prizes for those in the grandstands, and even an around-the-pool race for dads showing off their braai skills.
Coach Mandy Koegelenberg thanked the sponsors, spectators and swimmers for their support.
WINNERS
Girls: Jo-Anna Steynberg (6), Annabell Viljoen (7), Hope Koopman (8), Eve Steynberg (9), Mikayla De Melo and Carly-Rose du Preez (10), Skyla Nadauld (11), Emma Burger (12).
Boys: Manqoba Mlambo (6), Angus Bunge (7), Sven Buhr (8), Aaron Matthee (9), Declan van As (11) and Zuriel Pakkiri (12).
