Surf’s up for Tweni 2’s

The music line-up is sure to bring the vibe and have the party rocking.

The Tweni 2’s Retro 24 is set to take place at Umtentweni beach on Saturday, December 7.

It’s a festival of surf, music and sport, with this unique annual event catering for vintage surfboard riding, which combines a mix of seasoned and new skills, including paying tribute to styles and cultures of past eras.

“A lot of people have asked about the format for this year’s event so here’s how it’s going down,” said organiser Lindy Horlock.

“Surfers are encouraged to ride as many different boards as possible in an all-day expression session with no judges (commentary by @life_with_fin0) between an all-day, old-school soundtrack,” she said.

Spectators are also encouraged to get involved and dress up in their best vintage gear.

There’s also a 5-a-side beach soccer festival planned for boys and girls in U9, U11 and U14 age groups.

The music line-up is sure to bring the vibe and have the party rocking.

This includes the sounds of local artists in Element 3, Tyron Roy and Kellen Crystin, Peter B and Friends, Chewing the Hornet and Rock Lobsters, with deejays taking the party into the wee hours of the Sunday morning.

There is always a great vibe, and all are encouraged to come dressed for the occasion – Retro style.

A lunchtime special will be provided, with the music starting at 13:00. If you buy your entry ticket in November, you will stand the chance of winning a Wedge surfboard or R5000 cash, among other great prizes.
