Braden wins Southbroom junior champs

The club is hoping for a sizzling summer season.

It’s been an eventful weekend at Southbroom Golf Club, with the staging of the SPCA golf day last Saturday, followed by the junior champs last Sunday.

Braden Pratt won the junior champs on an 82 gross, with Cam Moore the runner-up on 86.

Runners-up were Kevin Wood (left) and CJ Dressing, with Mike Davis (SPCA).

Tyler Algie won the nett on 72, with Ethan Browne, Reuben de Bruin and Jacques de Bruin tied for second on nett 84.

Hercue de Bruin rounded out the top five with a nett 86.

The SPCA day was won by Urs Diethelm and Simon Shusha on 46 points.

There were three pairs on 44 points, with the countout favouring CJ Dressing and Kevin Wood, then Russell Mackenzie and Jack Moulder, with Bruce Matthew and Geoff Skelton having to settle for fourth place.

In fifth spot were Heinz Freivogel and Gavin Wagenaar on 43 points.

There were three pairs on 42 points, honours going to Arlene Bailey and Jill O’Callaghan, then Michelle van der Hoek and Sue Kupisiewicz and finally Cynthia Daniels and Shirley Jeffery.

The previous Wednesday’s competition was won by Andrew Wager on 33 points, counting out Rob Meydell.
