San Lameer has donated R105 000 to charity, up by R20k from last year. Pierre van Vuuren, the general manager of the country club, said it gave the club great pleasure to assist the local community.
“Due to fundraising throughout the year, we are fortunate to be in a position to help others. We chose these various charities because of the wonderful work they do, both locally and, in some instances, around the country. San Lameer is proud to be associated with these charities, and we thank them for their continued service,” he said.
The charities to benefit this year were Tidy Towns, Helpende Hand, Cansa, South Coast Hospice, SPCA, Margate Round Table, ProDeo and Siyakwazi.
The contributions were raised through the charity auction at San Lameer CC’s 4×4 Men’s Challenge tournament earlier this year.
