Zamokwakhe aces Sheppie’s 17th hole

Some superb golf has been played at the club during the past week or so.

Zamokwakhe Phungula provided the highlight of the day during the Friday Business Day, sponsored by Van Zyl Retief Inc., with an ace on the 17th hole.
It helped his team, comprising his father, Victor, Ronnie Mtshaka and Sizwe Mjoli, win the day on 93 points.
Runners-up were Piet Fourie, Johan Neethling, Jaco van der Wal and George Nagel on 91 points.
In third place were Albert dos Santos, Thys Blom, Rob Vogt and Chris Boyce on 87 points.

Earlier in the week, the Wednesday Monthly Mug, sponsored by Vics Enterprises and Victors Curry Room, was won by Johann Janse van Rensburg on nett 70.
He also had the best gross on the day of 76. Division winners were Gavin van Wyk (A) on nett 80, Mark Smith (B) on nett 73 and Rob Vogt (C) on nett 76. Charles Hulley won the Stableford section on 39 points.
In the ladies’ section, the winners were Sandi Burger (silver) on nett 80, Jenny Hulley (bronze) on nett 76, and Vicki Nott (copper) on 20 points.
First through the field was Jenny Hulley. Anni Creane had the least putts, 29 in all.

The Oscar Borchers trophy at PSCC was won by (from left) Natasha Cotterell, Dick Cotterell, Piet Snyman and Louise Snyman.

Saturday’s betterball, sponsored by Comfort Cool, was won on 49 points by Tinus Pretorius and Rob Calder.
In second place on 42 points were Neil Retief and Christo Janse van Vuuren.
They counted out George Bowie and Sidney Shingange.

The Oscar Borchers competition, held last Sunday, was won by Dick and Natasha Cotterell, and Piet and Louise Snyman.
Runners-up were Allan Rowley, Vicki Nott and Mark and Annie Creane.
Dick and Natasha also won the Marj Muirhead trophy. Runners-up were Gavin van Wyk and Jen Hulley.
