Kenny hooks a cracker

Remember, responsible fishing is keeping the shoreline as clean as possible and abiding by the bag limits.

Fishing was particularly good over the last week, with several species caught.

With shad on the bite, fishermen had fun for a few days at Umtentweni. There were reports of plenty of small shad caught, which were returned to the water, but many managed to take home the legal size.

Shad was also on the bite at The Block in Port Shepstone.

Henry Froogy Muller caught a good-sized dorado off his kayak recently, using live mackerel as bait.

Avishkar Arjoon hooked a 90cm shad while fishing for kob.

Kenny Modove caught a mussel cracker off Shelly Beach.
