Jennifer shines in KZN champs

She won the bronze division.

Jennifer Duncan flew Port Shepstone Country Club’s flag with pride at the recent KZN Championships held at Victoria CC in Pietermaritzburg.

She won the bronze division on 92 gross and nett 71, which is no mean feat in a strokeplay round at what can be a challenging course with fast greens.

Jennifer teamed up with Cecelia Verster, Natasha Cotterell and Yzelle Greyling to win the bronze challenge shield team event in both gross and nett divisions.

Pro-Vision held a semi-open social comp, sponsored by Jesse Verster, on April 13.

It was won by Dr Kaya Manona on 43 points, followed by Nkhosinathi Gumede on 40 points, with Dr Allan Ranjith in third place on 37 points.

More recently, Sbu Ntozakhe and Morris Moodley won last Saturday’s competition at Port Shepstone Country Club on 47 points.

Runners-up were Wonderboy Nxumalo and Loyiso Goqwana on 44 points, with Sashen Govender and Yugeshan Naidoo next on 43 points.

The regular Wednesday competition was rained out.

The Hibiscus Coast Electrical Fowl Friday on April 18 was won by Ian Stewart on 20 points.

Carding 19 points were Gavin van Wyk and Bruce Holmes, with Theo van Rooyen and Jenny Hulley both on 18 points.

Coming up: Saturday, April 26 – Ten Cup Series; Sunday, April 27 – Wozani Par 3. The previous week’s Wednesday comp was won by Gavin van Wyk on 39 points, two clear of Morris Moodley on 37 points. Louise Snyman was next on 35 points.

The business day on April 11, sponsored by Van Zyl, Retief Inc., was won by Loyiso Manyana, Siyabonga Mbola, Monde Nondabula and P Qayi on 91 points.

In second place on 89 points were Johan Venter, Jakes Jacobs, Riaan and Justin Janse van Vuuren.

Third spot went to Ryan Ringo, Allan Clark, Lane Allan and Lee Maree on 84 points on a countout.

The Standard Bank Challenge on April 12 was won by Piet and Louise Snyman on 44 points, by two from Gavin van Wyk and Christo Janse van Vuuren on 42 points.
