Restoration Cup honours for Howard and Francois

Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach has sponsored the event for 11 years.

Club captain Howard Crouch and Francois du Toit are the Restoration Cup champions for 2025, with a little help from the countout.

They put together the best two rounds on a weekend, where festivities and atmosphere were at a high, carding 90 points.

So did runners-up Godfrey Zithumane and PK Mkhoma, but the countout favoured Howard and Francois.

Overall sponsor for the tournament was Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach. This has been the case for more than a decade now, with dealer principal Steve Jones continuing the tradition started by his father Brian.

In addition, all 18 holes had individual sponsors and there was a fantastic vibe on and off the golf course. Entertainment was provided by Shaun Wulf and Rewind.

In third place, on 88 points, were Thys Blom and Stefan Klopper, counting out Gavin van Wyk and Christo Janse van Vuuren 88.

Fifth place went to Rudi and Ilse Steyn on 87 points, with Terblanche brothers Gerry and Ettienne next on 86 points.

Preggie Perumal tees off on the 10th tee.

Four pairs had 85 points, namely Rudi Coetzee and Wynand Prinsloo, Willem Lindeque and Johan Reichel, Leon le Roux and Vernon Albrecht, Johann du Plessis and Ian Stewart.

Longest day went to Rory Reen and Marius Stewart.
