If able to assist with fundraising, contact Megan Shaw on 076 3998317.

Blake Shaw of Freeland Park has been selected to attend a rugby tour of England and Wales.

He attended the Uhuru Rugby Festival at his school, Amanzimtoti High earlier this year, where the selection was made after his excellent performance.

” I am ecstatic and proud. I am honoured to be one of a few selected for such an opportunity.”

The touring team will be exposed to international competition, as well as the culture.

Blake (15) is looking forward to the December tour and meeting new people and players.

“It will be great seeing a different side of rugby and how it’s played in another country, and also getting to do a Twickenham Stadium tour as well as Principality Stadium tour,” said Blake.

The Amanzimtoti High learner needs the public’s help.

In order to help Blake go on this dream rugby tour, public assistance is required. The estimated cost of the tour is R55 900 (excluding spending money).

The passionate youngster has been playing rugby since the age of 12 and is in his school’s U15 team.

When he is not focusing on rugby, Blake enjoys cricket and fishing.

Blake Shaw enjoys fishing in his free time.

When asked about what he enjoys most about the sport, he mentioned the healthy competition and rivalry on the field and the brotherhood off the field.

“It’s my happy space!”
