News and results from South Coast bowling clubs.

MARGATE
The Holiday Club LSC drawn pairs was won by Peter Mundl and Roger Symes.
Runners-up were Bill Eccles and Stephan van der Merwe.
First session winners were Gary Hess and Moira Faure, with second session to Ken Tonge and Yvonne Bausek.
Lucky draw was won by Roy Deakins.
The festive Jacks vs Jills was played last Sunday morning.
Despite the Jills trying their best, they eventually had to concede victory to the Jacks.
Thanks to the Jacks who supplied wonderful eats for tea-time and a special thanks to Lolly Botha from N & M for providing a wonderful hamper for the winner of the men’s lucky draw, won by Lance Marshall, and a generous voucher for the ladies’ lucky draw, won by Annette Symes.
Judging by the success of the event, it seems Margate will continue to encourage new bowlers to come to the club to enjoy learning about this wonderful game.
Put on flat-soled shoes and join members on a Sunday at 09:00.

Winners of the Lower South Coast 2-4-2 lawn bowls tournament, with a record score, were Southbroom bowlers Glenn Hatfield and Helen Proctor, appropriately named The Aces.

Now in its tenth year, the week-long tournament is to be renamed The Boy Venter Memorial 2-4-2 in honour of the late Boy Venter, whose widow Janet continues to organise the event.
