Ashveer angles to first prize

The closed season for shad (elf) is October 1 to November 30 each year.

Anglers had fun when Zion Tabernacle Ministries’ hosted its fishing competition at The Block in Port Shepstone lrecently.

Ashveer Hiralal caught the winning fish, a 5kg brusher, bagging R1 000 in the process. This was his first brusher and it came at just the right time.

Second place went to Cheryl Moodley, who caught a bronze bream, with third place going to Charles Godden, also with a bronzie.

Other than Ashveer’s brisher, most of the fish caught on the day were either bronze bream or shad. Pastor Bradley Pillay thanked everyone for their support.
