Margate Country Club ladies have done the club proud by winning the Southern Districts golf league for 2025.
It’s been long overdue, perhaps, with the team delighted to have secured victory, by the narrowest of margins, by one point from Selborne Park Golf Club.
The last time Margate won the league was 15 years ago so there was reason to celebrate.
The final round of league matches was played at Scottburgh Golf Club last Sunday.
Margate finished on 29 points, with Selborne Park on 28, followed by Port Shepstone CC on 24 points, then Umdoni Park on 21 points.
In fifth place came Southbroom GC on 19 points, two ahead of Umkomaas/Scottburgh on 17 points and finally the Invitational team on 14 points.
