Uvongo padel tournament benefits puppies

Armand Grobler, Round Table Margate 46 chairperson, said 36 teams entered.

Round Table Margate 46 collected 18 bags of dog food (360kg) through its Padel for Pups fundraising initiative held at the South Coast Padel courts at Douglas Mitchell in Uvongo recently.

Chelsea Grobler and Matt Beetge give the fundraiser a thumbs up.

Participants were charged a bag of dog food per pair, and all items were to be donated to the SPCA.

Armand Grobler, Round Table Margate 46 chairperson, said 36 teams entered in total.

Hugh Strickland has a blast.

“Paddle for Pups was a massive success, as it is only the second time we have had the project and doubled the amount from last year. Super proud of my fellow Tablers and proud to be a Margate 46 Tabler,” he said.

Marius Bergh and Armand Grobler (red team) play against Hugh and Deidre Strickland.

Grobler added that the fundraiser was a success, mostly because it did not cost them any money.

“We also would like to thank Ross McKay of South Coast Padel for use of the courts.

Dylan Chapman teams up with Jarred Fletcher.
