South Coast’s Mannetjie Pienaar makes his MTB mark

The family thanked all who had made the trip possible.

Heimin ‘Mannetjie’ Pienaar recently represented KwaZulu-Natal at the South African Schools MTB Series finals held in Tzaneen.

He was selected to compete as a result of his first place at the KwaZulu-Natal XCO Championships held at Cascades in Pietermaritzburg in September.

In Tzaneen, Mannetjie placed first in the U10 boys for the interschool finals on the Saturday and then placed fourth for the interprovincial finals the next day, being the first KZN rider home.

While disappointed not to have finished higher on the Sunday, Mannetjie was nonetheless pleased with his efforts.

The family thanked sponsors, friends and all who had made the trip possible.

They also thanked Charles Stander for guiding Mannetjie so well in the early stages of what promises to be an exciting MTB career.

A raffle was held to raise funds towards the trip. First prize went to Mohammed Haffejee (weekend accommodation at Lake Eland), second prize to Zayn Moola (MTB trail cycling shoes from Bobby’s Cycles) and third place to Rina Viljoen (gift hamper with F61 performance product from John Sheekey Packaging).
