Croquet club at Mbango Valley Association is on a roll
The club has many exciting things planned for next year.
The Mbango Valley Association Croquet Club is enjoying a memorable year in 2025, thanks to growing membership, major improvements to the playing facilities, and generous sponsorship from GraceMed Pharmacy.
New members, not only from Mbango Valley Association but also from neighbouring areas, and the introduction of this wonderful sport to the youth has enriched the club’s friendly and vibrant atmosphere.
Some key highlights of the year include the upgrade of the court walls, a fresh new look for the clubhouse and its surroundings, and the installation of new hoops that meet national competition standards. Members also enjoyed several outings and social events, which helped strengthen the camaraderie and community spirit that make the club so special.
A major highlight was the GraceMed trophy club competition, which culminated in a thrilling final. After the score reached six-all, Mike Lander triumphed over Stewart Betts in a dramatic deciding hoop to claim victory.
The club’s Fun in the Sun morning and the upcoming end-of-year luncheon once again show that enthusiasm, imagination, and camaraderie can turn every croquet day into a celebration of fun and friendship.
Looking ahead to 2026, the club plans to host new outings, competitions, family days, coaching sessions, and friendly matches with other clubs.
These activities will continue to promote croquet and encourage players of all ages to take part.
Croquet is a fun, affordable and family-friendly sport.
