Masterful bowls from Tracy and Glen in Uvongo

Spectators were treated to an exceptionally high standard of exciting bowls.

Kingfisher Bowling Association, in partnership with Henselite SA, held the 27th Masters tournament at Riverside Bowling Club in Uvongo last weekend.
The shirts, in the Kingfisher colours and sponsored by Henselite, gave the tournament a festive and classy image.
This is the most prestigious tournament on the Kingfisher calendar.

Wayne Rittmuller (Henslite), men’s winner Glenn Hatfield, Colleen Piketh (Henslite) and Hans van der Walt (KBA president).

The top 12 men and top 12 women single players in the district get invited by the Kingfisher selectors to take part.
It is a fierce competition, played over two days, where it is every player’s goal to be crowned the Master champion for the year.

The spectators were treated to exceptionally high standard of exciting bowls.
Although the competition is hard fought the sportsmanship and camaraderie amongst the players was a joy to watch.

Clinton Knott (The Bell) bowls his way to the silver medal. He was also named KBA Achiever of the Year.

The women’s gold medal winner was Tracy Graham (The Bell) and Glen Hatfield (Southbroom) for the men.
Silver medals for the runners-up were Linda Maynhardt-Hudson (AMBC) and Clinton Knott (The Bell).
Bronze medals went to Pam Cole-Cook (Banners Rest) and Lindi Samuel (The Bell), as well as Terrance Mc Glynn (Riverside) and Shane Nienaber (Riverside).
The KBA executive thanked Henselite SA, Riverside BC, players, markers, officials and spectators for their contribution to make this tournament a great success.
