KINGFISHER
The 2025 KBA Masters, sponsored by Henselite South Africa, was held at Riverside Sports Club last weekend, where 24 of the best bowlers in the district were selected to play.
It is one of the most important competitions in the South African bowling calendar.
After two days of highly competitive and brilliant bowling, the gold medals were awarded to Glenn Hatfield (Southbroom) and Tracy Graham (The Bell).
The silver medals went to Clinton Knott (The Bell) and Linda Maynardt-Hudson (AMBC).
Men’s bronze medallists were Shane Nienaber and Terrance Mc Glynn (both Riverside) and Lindi Samuel and Pam Cole-Cook.
In addition, Clinton and Annatjie Kidd were named KBA Achiever of the Year for men and women respectively.
The Bell was named Club of the Year.
Player of the Year awards went to Bruce Hoyer and Pam Cole-Cook.
VILLAGE
Winning the Spec-Savers open on November 20 were Trevor Heywood, Chris Allen and Winston van Greune.
Runners-up were Manny Rodrigues, Alan Tyers and Mel Glover.
First session went to Donnovan Mulder, Louis Heystek and Theo Vorster.
Second session was won by Johan du Preez, Jeanne Gregori and Dave van As.
Winning the Hibiscus Insurance Brokers open trips on November 11 were Ali Mitchell, Clive Cowan and Heidi Bracegirdle.
Runners-up were Jeff Cronje, Eric Redman and Mike Dunn.
First session went to Retha Soden, Wilma Swanepoel and Pieter Swanepoel.
Second session was won by Donnovan Mulder, Norman Davies and Louis Heystek.
MARGATE
Fourteen teams took part in the final Ken Tonge sponsored ladies’ trips for the year.
Sincere thanks go to Ken for his generous sponsorship throughout the year.
Winners were Nicky Hearne, Edith Button and Jeanne Gregori.
Runners-up were Voleen Norris, Avril Cannon and Linda Montgomery.
Session prize went to to Pauline Dunlop, Cheryl Thompson and Anthea Bratby.
Lucky draw was won by Irma Botes.
The Uvongo Spar open 2-4-2 on November 19 was won by Ken Tonge and Yvonne Bausek.
Runners-up were Johan du Preez and Jeanne Gregori. Lucky draw was won by Theo Vorster.
THE BELL
The 3rd Avenue Pub and Restaurant mixed trips on November 18 was won by Bob Corringham, Charmaine van der Westhuizen and Desairee Maartens.
Runners-up were Eddie Human, Lyn Harris and John Kendall.
In third place were Renzo van Niekerk, Norman Wicks and Jim Vaughan.
TWENI
The recent Oribi Plaza Wimpy ladies’ pairs was won by Charmaine van der Westhuizen and Alida Munnik.
Runners-up were Desiree Krause and Gerda Clarke.
Session prize went to Tracy and Larraine Harris.
